5 12 16 morning call

I surfed Hookipa morning and sunset and both sessions were far from perfect, but fun. Second one had smaller size, you'll find some action shots in the update I did mid morning.

This one is a Tahiti beauty/beast from Ben Thouard.

Significant buoy readings 5am.

N
4.6ft @ 10s from 348° (NNW)

Pauwela
4.3ft @ 9s from 7° (N)

Lanai
1.2ft @ 18s from 205° (SSW)
0.8ft @ 13s from 187° (S)
0.8ft @ 11s from 197° (SSW)

Small readings for the south shore, still mostly northerly short period energy on the north shore, at least it's not too windy yet at 6am and it shouldn't be particularly windy even later, as the NAM3km map at noon shows below.

Wind map shows three weak fetches. Small days ahead.

South Pacific not looking good either.
